The Problem

A hundred years of material science. Finally, a product that understands it.

Silicone oils. Mineral conditioners. Generic rubber restorers. The vintage pen market has made do with products designed for other materials entirely, applied to irreplaceable objects that are a hundred years old.

They improve the surface for a week. Then the oxidation returns, the colour fades, and the collector has treated something that cannot be replaced with something that was never designed for it.

The alternative has been professional restoration: expensive, requiring disassembly, and involving trust in an unknown restorer with a pen that cannot be repaired if something goes wrong.

The Evidence

One pen. Ninety years of oxidation. A few hours with Oxid-X.

Each set of three barrels is the same pen at three points in its restoration. Top: a century of UV oxidation. Middle: Stage 1 in progress. Bottom: Stage 1 complete, ready for pigment wax.

The System

Two stages. No disassembly. Archival results.

Drop the pen in whole. No threading apart a sac that has not been opened in ninety years. No specialist tools. No risk. The complete Oxid-X Field Kit contains everything needed to take a pen from oxidised to archive-ready.

Stage 01 · The Deoxidiser
Surface Renewal

A bespoke solution formulated specifically for black hard rubber and vintage celluloid. Dissolves surface oxidation at the molecular level. The pen immerses whole in the Reaction Chamber, upright, undisturbed. No disassembly. No risk to fragile threads, sacs, or section joints unopened since manufacture.

Stage 02 · The Velvet Wax
Archival Finish

A carbon-black pigmented wax formulation that feeds the rubber, restores deep uniform colouration, and provides UV inhibition. The result is a dry, hard, warm finish: the feel of factory-fresh vintage material. Not greasy. Not oily. The way it left the factory in 1924.

Significant. Disruptive. A genuine scientific advance over existing non-archival methods.

Why Oxid-X

Built for the collector, not the trade

01
No Disassembly

The pen immerses whole. No threading apart a section that has not been opened in ninety years. No risk to fragile sacs, threads, or joints. Designed for the collector, not the workshop.

02
Warm, Archival Finish

The finish goal is factory-fresh vintage material. If the pen feels greasy after treatment, the treatment has failed. Oxid-X does not fail this test.

03
British-Made

Formulated and produced in Birkenhead, England. Developed with and validated by leading UK restorers. A complete standalone system: every component included, nothing improvised.
